“We are rewriting genetics, one dish at a time. We can start your way: fancy cuisine for the privileged few. But we can do better. We can produce this massively.”
Horatio Productions’ new show, ReGen, will be featured in the biggest science fiction theatre festival in the UK: Science Fiction Theatre Festival, at Pleasance Theatre in London.
The script has been developed with the collaboration of scientists from the Centre for Stem Cells & Regenerative Medicine of King’s College London, who provided vital advice on the science behind the story. Horatio Productions are members of the UK Science Festivals Network and count with the collaboration of the charity Collage Works.
ReGen tackles the future of medical research and the privatisation of healthcare, based on real groundbreaking stem cell research. Structured as a courthouse drama, ReGen is the story of the clandestine partnership between two unlikely allies. As their work produces world changing results, their opposing political and social views clash, throwing them on a journey where mutual destruction is guaranteed.
